DESCRIPTION: PRE-HELLENISTIC PERIOD. By Lysippus. Roman copy after original bronze (see support behind figure). Man has rubbed oil on and is scraping it from his body. See fig leaf - most likely a result of the Vatican's need to cover up, since nudity wasn't an issue for the Greeks.
