DESCRIPTION: HELLENESTIC PERIOD. Greatest achievement of Hellenestic period before Nike of Samothrace was created. Very complex sculpture. Example of Greek TRAGEDY: Laocoon, a priest, got in the way of the will of the gods. He warned Troy not to let Greek Trojan horse in. Gods wanted Greeks to win, so they punished him by consuming him and his sons with serpents.
