DESCRIPTION: Flemish painter studied in Italy. Great LANDSCAPE painter. Breugel painted PEASANTS, not the rich. High horizon landscape. This was one in a series of paintings which represented every month of the year. This one is December. Sharp mountains aren't real but made picture more interesting. Painting is now in museum in Vienna.
