TITLE: Moderna - Oil on Canvas - 20" x 24" x 1-5/8"

DESCRIPTION: Thinking on modern womanhood and motherhood: We are never alone as selves, but are connected to and influenced by our pasts and the people in them, known and unkown. Despite the impossible model that organized religion creates for us, the truth is that try as we might, there is no perfect motherhood, as evidenced by the rascal tail in the lower right. This painting was also my study on depth of layered color - the red background is multiple layers of oil paint and liquin.
