I studied music and drama at Stephens College, Columbia MO. and have
a long-standing reputation as a fine soloist,actress, and versatile
entertainer, having performed for a wide variety of occasions in venues
throughout the Southeast and in Europe. As a well respected vocal
artist, I am at home singing all different styles.
Chorally, I sang with Robert Shaw and the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra
Chorus and Chamber Chorus for 10 seasons, touring Europe and singing
on the stages at Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center in New York. I was
delighted to return to the ranks of the Chamber Chorus again for the
2001-2002 season.
As a soloist, I perform for audiences large and small, from weddings
to stage shows to intimate restaurant settings. Favorite stage credits
include "Music Man" with Theater of the Stars at the Fabulous
Fox; my boffo one-woman show, "All Grown Up!" at the Rialto
Theater for the Performing Arts ; and the Mezzo Soprano/Alto solos
in numerous classical works including Handel's Messiah in venues throughout
Atlanta, and Beethoven's Mass in C with the Coastal Symphony of Georgia.
I taught music and was Head of the Music Department at the Heritage
School for 3 years, and I am a certified Level One Orff Schulwerk
instructor. Many years of leading music for Vacation Bible Schools
and directing Childrens' Choirs and Summer Music Camps are also under
my belt.
For nine years I held the position of Staff Singer at St. Mark United Methodist Church in midtown Atlanta. In May, 2004 I resigned to devote my energies fulltime to another creative endeavor. On June 2, 2007 I graduated summa cum laude from Savannah College of Art and Design having earned a B.F.A. with a concentration in painting.
