DESCRIPTION: MARY CASSATT. American Impressionist who painted in Europe. Went to Pennsylvania Academy (so did Eakins - see N. Amer. Art, Gross Clinic, #26). Quit there and went to Europe, met Degas and exhibited with Impressionists. Ingres did bath subjects, too (see Romanticism # 13-15).
