DESCRIPTION: by BERNINI. In Cornaro Chapel. Rome. Sculpture depicts the mystic, St. Theresa and her vision of the Lord, the angel piercing her side. All white marble except arrow tip, and gilt bronze. Drapery very lively (reminiscent of Phydian drapery - see Art Hist I, Greek Art, slide #28).
