DESCRIPTION: Tempera on wood. MARTINI was student of DUCCIO. Martini had different style with French Gothic influence (worked w/ French in Italy). Style elaborate, "court style", NOT trending toward Classicism. Iconography: lilies = purity of Mary. Words from angel's mouth: "Hail Mary full of grace, the Lord is with thee" (originally spoken by angel Gabriel to Mary).
