Greeks overwhelmed and are pictured here about to die. MORAL: accepting fate and coming to terms w death. Gen. depicted nude in painting = "heroic". Napoleon abdicated c/o defeat at Waterloo. David out of favor now, and fled to Switzerland. Killed in 1824 by a cab in Brussels.
