Epidemics=many soldiers fell ill. Pesthouse=place to isolate dying sick from healthy. EPITOME OF ROMANTIC: Napoleon touching sick = CHRIST-LIKE, brave, compassionate; exotic setting; emotional portrayal of patients. Gros = suicide after trying to return to classical art w no success.
